Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 hard-boiled egg yolks
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Mash the hard-boiled egg yolks until smooth.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, vanilla, and salt.
  3. Add the mashed egg yolks and butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the dough resembles pie dough.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut with a cookie cutter.
  5. Brush the tops with beaten egg whites.
  6. Optionally, top with nuts if desired.
  7. Bake at 350°F until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
