- Prepare pastry for two-crust 9-inch pie.
- Fill the bottom crust with 6 sliced medium apples.
- Combine cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, sugar, melted margarine, and 1/3 cup Karo syrup to make the filling.
- Pour the filling over the apples in the pie crust.
- Cover with the top crust and bake in a 425°F oven for 45 minutes or until the crust is browned and apples are tender.
- Remove from oven and prepare the topping by mixing brown sugar, flour, 2 tablespoons Karo syrup, soft margarine, and nuts.
- Spread the topping over the baked pie crust.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the topping is bubbly.
