Tips & Substitutions

For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of olive oil to the vinegar mixture. You can substitute red wine vinegar for balsamic if preferred, and feel free to experiment with fresh herbs like rosemary or parsley instead of thyme. Make sure to cut the onions evenly for uniform cooking. If you're using smaller onions, reduce cooking time accordingly.

Serving Suggestions

These herb roasted onions make a delightful side dish for grilled meats or as a topping for salads. They pair beautifully with Chicken Breasts In Wine Mushroom-Rice Pilaf. Consider serving them alongside a light salad or incorporating them into a sandwich for added flavor. They also work great as a flavorful addition to pasta dishes.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover herb roasted onions in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in a skillet on medium heat with a splash of broth or water to prevent sticking, stirring occasionally until warmed through. You can also reheat them in the microwave, but be sure to cover to retain moisture.
