- Use an electric mixer to combine warm water, dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let the mixture ferment until bubbly.
- Add the remaining sugar, dry milk, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Punch down the dough and divide into equal portions. Shape into rolls and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Let the rolls rise again until puffy, about 30-45 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven, cool slightly, and serve warm.
