Honey Date Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 c. honey
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 (6 1/2 oz.) pkg. pitted dates, cut up
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • fine granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix honey, eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add with dates and nuts.
  3. Spread in greased 12 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  4. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  5. Cool in pan. Cut in 3 x 1-inch bars, roll in sugar.
  6. Makes 39 bars.
