Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. To caramelize sugar, place a heavy skillet over low heat. Stir constantly until melted and browned.
  2. Place granulated sugar and cream in a double boiler and heat to boiling point.
  3. Add caramelized sugar and stir until well blended.
  4. Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla.
  5. Beat thoroughly.
  6. Reheat over hot water if needed.
  7. Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
