Hot German Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 4 c. shredded red cabbage
  • 1 c. unpeeled, diced green apple

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, onion, caraway seed, dry mustard, pepper and vinegar.
  2. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Melt margarine in a large skillet.
  4. Saute cabbage and apple over medium heat for 3 minutes. Stir in vinegar mixture and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender.
