Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb bacon, fried and cut up
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 head lettuce, cut up
  • salt to taste
  • 2 c milk
  • 1/4 c vinegar

Instructions

  1. Place egg and flour in a saucepan; mix well and add sugar.
  2. Heat the mixture, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  3. Add milk, then cook until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in bacon and vinegar; heat thoroughly.
  5. Pour the hot sauce over the chopped lettuce and toss to combine.
  6. Serve the hot lettuce over fried potatoes.
