Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups huckleberries
  • cinnamon to taste

Instructions

  1. Cream together sugar, shortening, and eggs.
  2. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to the creamed mixture.
  3. Stir in huckleberries and cinnamon.
  4. Divide the batter into 2 greased and floured loaf pans.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
