Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups potato water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup fl. yeast
  • 6 or 7 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Mix together the milk, mashed potatoes, potato water, salt, sugar, shortening, yeast, and flour.
  2. Beat the mixture until smooth and well combined.
  3. Let the dough rise for 2 hours in a warm place.
  4. Thicken the dough with more flour as needed.
  5. Allow the dough to rise until light and doubled in size.
  6. Work out the dough into rolls of desired size.
  7. Let the rolls rise until they are double in size.
  8. Bake in a 350°F oven until lightly brown.
