Ingredients

  • 4 oz. non-instant butterscotch pudding
  • 2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 oz. semi-sweet baking chocolate
  • 1 (9-inch) baked pie crust
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a 4-cup measure, place pudding mix; add brown sugar.
  2. Blend in milk gradually until smooth.
  3. Microwave on High until mixture thickens (5 to 6 minutes), stirring twice during cooking.
  4. Remove half of the pudding; add chocolate and stir until melted.
  5. Pour the chocolate pudding into the baked pie crust.
  6. To the remaining pudding, add margarine and vanilla.
  7. Cook at lukewarm temperature and pour over the chocolate layer.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  9. Serve with whipped topping and garnish with shaved chocolate, if desired.
