Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups blanched whole almonds or other nuts
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with foil and butter the foil.
  2. In a heavy 8-inch skillet, combine the nuts, sugar, and butter or margarine.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 9 minutes or until the sugar melts and turns a rich brown color.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Allow to cool completely.
  7. Break into clusters and store tightly covered.
