Icy Walnut Balls

- In large mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar.
- Cut in margarine until crumbly.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Place in 13 x 9-inch pan (do not pat down).
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
- Stir occasionally, until crumbs are toasted and golden brown.
- Cool; set aside.
- In same mixing bowl, combine milk, extract and powdered sugar.
- Stir in dates and remaining walnuts.
- Drop by scant teaspoon into cooled crumbs; shape into balls, rolling to coat.
- Store in refrigerator.
- Bake at 400°.
- Makes 50 cookies.
