Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, cut up
  • 2 cups uncooked long grain rice
  • 1 package Lipton dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup minced onions

Instructions

  1. Combine cream of celery soup, cream of mushroom soup, uncooked rice, minced onions, and water in a bowl.
  2. Pour the mixture into a rectangular casserole dish.
  3. Arrange chicken pieces on top of the rice mixture.
  4. Sprinkle dry Lipton onion soup mix over the chicken.
  5. Season with salt and pepper or your preferred seasoning such as Tony Chachere or Morton's Nature's Seasons.
  6. Cover the casserole with foil and bake at 350°F for 2.5 hours.
  7. Uncover and brown the chicken pieces before serving.
