Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef or chicken
  • 4 tsp curry
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp pepper
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 to 3 bay leaves
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Brown 1/2 cup chopped onion in a pot.
  2. Add spices and water to the onion.
  3. Add choice of meat (beef or chicken) and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until tender.
  4. Add cubed potatoes and cook until potatoes are done.
  5. Serve with rice and top with chutney.
  6. Optionally, add 1 can chopped tomatoes, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper to taste.
