Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1 medium tomato, peeled and chopped
  • 17 oz can English peas, drained

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
  2. Combine curry powder, ground turmeric, salt, garlic powder, red pepper, ground ginger, and pepper; add to the beef mixture and stir well.
  3. Add peeled and cubed potato, chopped tomato, drained peas, and water to the skillet.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 25 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice.
