Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond
  • 1 tsp. lemon or coconut

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening and sugar together.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add other ingredients and mix well.
  3. Bake in tube pan for 1 1/2 hours at 325°.
