International Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 pounds cubed beef ⓘ
- 3 onions, sliced ⓘ
- 6 carrots, sliced
- 2 1/2 cups cubed potatoes ⓘ
- 3 stalks celery, sliced ⓘ
- 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, quartered ⓘ
- 1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables ⓘ
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes ⓘ
- 5 cloves garlic, pressed ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons dried rosemary ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons dried sage ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves ⓘ
- salt and pepper to taste ⓘ
- 8 cups water ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
- In a large, ovenproof pot, combine beef, onions, carrots, potatoes, celery, mushrooms, mixed vegetables, tomatoes. Season with garlic, rosemary, sage, basil, salt, pepper. Pour in water. Cover tightly with foil and bake 5 to 6 1/2 hours.
