Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded mild Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups cooked and drained elbow macaroni
  • Pepperidge Farm herb stuffing mix

Instructions

  1. Make a white sauce by melting margarine in a saucepan, then stirring in flour and gradually adding milk, with optional salt, until smooth and thickened.
  2. Add shredded Cheddar cheese to the sauce and stir until melted and well combined.
  3. Fold the cheese sauce into cooked and drained elbow macaroni in a 2-quart casserole dish.
  4. Sprinkle Pepperidge Farm herb stuffing mix evenly over the top of the macaroni and cheese.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
