Ingredients

  • 1 (9x13) white or yellow cake, baked and cooled
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 pkg strawberry jello
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 (12 oz) Cool Whip
  • 1 carton frozen strawberries, thawed

Instructions

  1. Prick the cooled cake with a large two-pronged fork at 1/2 inch intervals.
  2. Dissolve the strawberry jello in boiling water.
  3. Add cold water to the jello mixture.
  4. Spoon the jello mixture evenly over the pricked cake.
  5. Chill the cake for 4 hours to set the jello.
  6. Mix Cool Whip with thawed strawberries.
  7. Frost the chilled cake with the strawberry Cool Whip mixture.
  8. Garnish with sliced fresh strawberries before serving.
