Deliciously light and sweet doughnuts made from frozen bread dough, perfect for a quick treat. Coated in white sugar, they are ideal for breakfast or snack time.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough
  • white sugar

Instructions

  1. Let the frozen bread dough thaw but do not let it rise.
  2. Cut the loaf into 3 strips lengthwise, then cut crosswise into 1-inch squares.
  3. Heat shortening in a deep fryer or large pot until hot.
  4. Drop the dough pieces into the hot shortening and fry until golden brown.
  5. Drain the fried dough on brown paper towels.
  6. Roll the fried doughnuts in white sugar and serve.
