- In a 9 x 13-inch baking pan, spread pie filling evenly over the bottom; sprinkle vanilla over the pie filling.
- Sprinkle dry cake mix on top of the filling and spread evenly, breaking up large pieces.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the cake mix.
- Slice butter into thin pieces and place evenly over the top of the mixture.
- Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes.
