Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix (chocolate or yellow)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 8 oz Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Combine the cake mix and butter until well mixed.
  2. Press the mixture into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch cake pan.
  3. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  5. Spread cherry pie filling over the cooled crust.
  6. Layer with Cool Whip on top of the cherry filling.
  7. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the assembled dessert before serving.
