- Place the seasoned meat in 3 quarts of water with crushed red pepper and cook with the lid on for about 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Wash the kale several times and trim off the roots and heavier parts of the leaves.
- Remove the meat from the pot and add the cleaned kale to the cooking liquid.
- Cook the kale until tender, then replace the meat on top and heat thoroughly.
