Ingredients

  • 2 medium cabbage
  • 4 red peppers
  • 12 medium onions
  • allspice to taste
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 1 gallon tomatoes
  • 8 large carrots
  • 4 green peppers
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 3 pints vinegar

Instructions

  1. Grind all ingredients in a food grinder.
  2. Add salt and let stand for 2 hours.
  3. Drain through a cloth sack.
  4. Put the drained mixture in a large container.
  5. Add 3 pints vinegar, sugar, and allspice.
  6. Fill jars with the mixture.
  7. Do not cook; refrigerate.
