Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. butter
  • 3 c. white flour
  • 1 c. cornstarch
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cream together the brown sugar and butter.
  2. Sift the white flour into a separate bowl; stir in the cornstarch and salt with a fork.
  3. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, about 1 cup at a time, until smooth.
  4. Form the dough into a ball, then roll out, cut with cookie cutters, or pat into a pan.
  5. Pierce the top well with a fork.
  6. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until the edges are set but do not brown.
