- In a 3-quart saucepan, combine sugar, Marshmallow Creme, evaporated milk, butter, and salt.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture boils.
- Boil gently, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes.
- Divide the mixture in half.
- To one half (about 3 cups), add chocolate pieces and stir until melted and blended.
- Pour the chocolate layer into a buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Spread the remaining plain mixture over the chocolate layer and smooth the top.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
