- Fill a medium-sized bowl three-quarters full with self-rising flour.
- Make a well in the middle of the flour and add 1/2 cup of oil.
- Slowly pour in the cream soda while stirring gently.
- Continue stirring until a soft dough ball forms, adding flour from the edges as needed.
- Knead the dough gently on a floured surface a couple of times, without overworking.
- Flatten the dough to 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness using a rolling pin or flat of your hand.
- Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter, drinking glass, or whatever is available.
- Pour a small amount of oil into the bottom of a Dutch oven or baking sheet.
- Place the biscuits in the pan and turn them over so both sides are coated with oil.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
