Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 gallons cubed deer
  • water
  • 6 to 7 large onions
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the deer into small 1-inch cubes, bite-sized pieces.
  2. Freeze the cubed deer until ready to cook.
  3. Heat a black kettle with a small amount of water to boiling.
  4. Add the cubed deer to the kettle and stir constantly.
  5. Add water as needed to keep a liquid on the deer.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cook until the deer is tender, approximately 2 hours.
  8. When the deer is tender, add the chopped onions.
  9. Cook until the onions are soft and flavorful.
