- Skim excess fat from the meat broth and store the fat for future use in seasoning vegetables.
- Measure the broth and pour the desired amount into a pan.
- Shake water and flour in a covered jar, with water added first and then flour for a smooth mixture.
- Stir the flour mixture slowly into the broth and heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
- Boil and stir for 1 minute.
- If desired, add a few drops of bottled brown bouquet sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
