Ingredients

  • 1 cup meat broth
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Place meat on a warm platter and keep warm while preparing the gravy.
  2. Skim excess fat from the meat broth and store the fat for future use in seasoning vegetables.
  3. Measure the broth and pour the desired amount into a pan.
  4. Shake water and flour in a covered jar, with water added first and then flour for a smooth mixture.
  5. Stir the flour mixture slowly into the broth and heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  6. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
  7. If desired, add a few drops of bottled brown bouquet sauce.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
