Kieske
Kieske is a hearty, comforting dish combining tender pork hocks, pearl barley, and onions, perfect for family dinners or cold weather hearty meals.

- Cook pork hocks until done in enough water to cover the meat. Remove the meat and let it cool.
- In the same water, cook the pearl barley until tender.
- When the meat is completely cool, grind or shred it.
- Grind or finely chop the onion.
- Add the cooked pearl barley to the meat and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- If the mixture is dry, add a little water to prevent it from being too thick.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Optionally, put the mixture in a pan and bake until light brown before serving.
