Ingredients

  • 25 or 30 cucumbers
  • 8 onions
  • 2 sweet peppers
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 5 c. vinegar
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 tsp. turmeric

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice cucumbers and chop onions and bell peppers.
  2. Let stand 3 hours in cold water and salt, then drain.
  3. Mix vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, and turmeric and bring to a boil.
  4. Add drained cucumbers to the boiling mixture and heat, but do not boil.
  5. Put the mixture in jars and seal.
