Ingredients

  • 2 boxes or 1 sack frozen hash browns
  • 1 cup onion, sautéed in 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can cream of celery soup

Instructions

  1. Mix the cream of celery soup with the sautéed onion and margarine.
  2. Layer hash browns in a baking dish, then spread some of the soup mixture over the layer.
  3. Repeat layering with remaining hash browns and soup mixture.
  4. Top with bread crumbs.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  6. Uncover and brown the top slightly before serving.
