Ingredients

  • 8 cups torn leaf or iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup light cream or sour cream
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sliced green onion

Instructions

  1. Place the torn lettuce in a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the sugar, vinegar, and light cream or sour cream until the sugar dissolves and the dressing is smooth.
  3. Stir in the sliced green onion.
  4. Just before serving, pour the dressing over the lettuce.
  5. Toss lightly to coat the lettuce evenly.
