Ingredients

  • 8 canned biscuits or unbaked pastry shell
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 pound ground turkey or chuck
  • 3/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces low-fat mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. If using canned biscuits, press into a pan to form a crust.
  2. Combine ground turkey and chopped onion.
  3. Lightly brown the turkey and onion mixture.
  4. Add water, tomato paste, and taco seasoning; cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Layer the meat mixture with cheese in the crust, ending with cheese on top.
  7. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
