Tips & Substitutions

For a smoother fudge, ensure your sugar is well incorporated before boiling again. You can substitute the peanut butter with almond butter for a different flavor. If you prefer a richer taste, consider adding a pinch of salt to enhance the sweetness. Use a candy thermometer to check for the soft ball stage, ensuring perfect consistency.

Serving Suggestions

Cut the fudge into small squares and serve it as a delightful dessert or snack. It pairs beautifully with coffee or a glass of milk. For a festive touch, consider wrapping pieces in colorful cellophane to give as gifts. This fudge also complements desserts like the Red Carpet Cake or can be served alongside seasonal treats.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, refrigerate it, where it can last for up to a month. To reheat, cut a portion and warm it gently in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, ensuring it doesn't melt completely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use low-fat milk instead of whole milk?

Using low-fat milk may result in a less creamy texture, but it can still work. If you prefer a richer fudge, stick with whole milk or even substitute with evaporated milk for added creaminess.

What can I do if my fudge doesn't set properly?

If your fudge remains too soft, you can try cooking it a bit longer to reach the soft ball stage. If it still won’t set, consider melting it down again, adding more sugar, and re-beating until it thickens.

Is there a way to add nuts or other flavors?

Absolutely! You can fold in chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for added texture. For different flavors, consider adding a tablespoon of cocoa powder for chocolate fudge or even swirl in some caramel for a unique twist.
