Ingredients

  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • 1 package lime jello
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1¾ cups boiling water
  • ¼ cup lime juice

Instructions

  1. Chill the evaporated milk overnight.
  2. Combine lime jello, sugar, boiling water, lime juice, and add 3 or more drops of green food coloring; stir until dissolved.
  3. Refrigerate the jello mixture until it becomes syrupy.
  4. Place the chilled evaporated milk in a large bowl and whip together with the jello mixture, adding a pinch of salt to the milk.
  5. Melt 1/2 cup margarine and mix with 2 cups chocolate Nabisco cookie crumbs to make the crust.
  6. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of three buttered pie plates.
  7. Pour the whipped jello and milk mixture into the prepared crusts.
  8. Let the pies set in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  9. Grate chocolate over the top before serving.
