Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 12 eggs
  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and butter until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well between each addition.
  3. Gradually add sifted flour, half a cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Beat the batter for about 5 minutes until fluffy, but do not overbeat.
  5. Add vanilla extract and lemon extract, mixing well.
  6. Pour the batter into a well-greased large tube or Bundt pan.
  7. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for about 60 minutes until golden brown.
