Ingredients

  • 8 egg whites
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour (cake flour)
  • 1 c. butter or shortening
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add milk and dry ingredients that have been sifted together and mix well. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and mix. Bake in 9-inch cake pans, making 6 to 8 real thin layers. Bake at 350°.
