Maple Nut Torte

A light and fluffy angel food cake layered with a sweet maple pecan whipped topping, perfect for a delightful dessert or special occasion treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. white angel food cake mix
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1 (12 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Instructions

  1. Bake and cool the cake as directed on the package.
  2. Remove the cake from the pan and slice off the top to make it flat.
  3. Split the cake into two layers by marking with toothpicks and cutting with a serrated knife.
  4. Place the bottom layer on a serving plate.
  5. Stir cinnamon, nutmeg, maple flavoring, and toasted pecans into the whipped topping.
  6. Spread 1 1/2 cups of the topping mixture over the bottom layer.
  7. Place the second cake layer on top of the first.
  8. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining topping mixture.
  9. Garnish with pecan halves if desired.
