Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup canned milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter.
  2. Gradually add sugar, beating well.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Add flour; mix thoroughly.
  5. Stir in canned milk, water, and vanilla.
  6. Pour custard mixture into the unbaked 9-inch pie shell.
  7. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.
  8. Reduce temperature to 300°F and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Chill the pie before serving.
