Ingredients

  • 1 qt. warm water
  • 1/2 c. yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 dash salt

Instructions

  1. Stir all ingredients together: warm water, yeast, sugar, Crisco oil, and salt.
  2. Add enough flour to make the dough the consistency of biscuit dough, about 3 1/2 quarts.
  3. Put the dough in a bowl and brush the top with butter.
  4. Let the dough rise until it doubles in size.
  5. Punch down the dough.
  6. Pinch off pieces of dough to form rolls.
  7. Brush the rolls with butter and let rise again until they double in size.
  8. Bake the rolls until golden brown.
  9. Brush with butter when done.
