  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped fine
  • 2 carrots, chopped fine
  • 3 large cloves garlic

Instructions

  3. Place the sugar, cider vinegar, celery salt, and minced garlic in a saucepan.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for a few minutes.

Tips & Substitutions

When shredding cabbage, a sharp knife or mandoline works best for even pieces. If you want a sweeter slaw, consider adding more sugar or a splash of fruit juice. For a vegan version, substitute the sugar with maple syrup or agave. You can also switch out the green pepper for a more colorful bell pepper if desired.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this slaw as a refreshing side dish with grilled meats or as a topping for sandwiches and tacos. It pairs beautifully with Gloria'S Wedding Punch(Slush Punch) for a festive meal. You can also enjoy it alongside a hearty main dish like Girl Scout Goulash for a complete dinner.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover slaw in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep well for about 3-5 days. If the slaw becomes too watery, drain off excess liquid before serving. For best flavor, let it sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes before serving again.
