Ingredients

  • 1 cup thick white sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced parsley

Instructions

  1. Mix together the thick white sauce, minced onion, parsley, and chopped cooked meat.
  2. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator.
  3. Shape into pyramids or cylinders.
  4. Roll in fine dry bread crumbs.
  5. Set aside in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.
  6. Dip in a mixture of 1 slightly beaten egg and 2 tablespoons water.
  7. Roll again in fine dry bread crumbs.
  8. Let dry again for 1 1/2 hours in the refrigerator.
  9. Fry in deep fat at 400°F until delicately browned, about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
  10. Drain on absorbent paper in a warm place.
  11. Keep hot in the oven until ready to serve.
  12. Serve hot with mushroom, tomato, or desired sauce.
