A refreshing appetizer of melon balls soaked in white wine, wrapped in prosciutto and warm edam cheese, finished with crisp lettuce and alfalfa sprouts—perfect for summer parties.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cantaloupe balls
  • 2 cups honeydew balls
  • 1 1/3 cups white wine
  • 4 1/2 oz thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 14 oz edam cheese cut into 1/2-inch wedges
  • leaf lettuce
  • alfalfa sprouts

Instructions

  1. Combine melon balls with white wine in a small bowl.
  2. Cover and chill for about 1 hour.
  3. Cut prosciutto into 3-inch long, 2-inch wide strips.
  4. Wrap each cheese wedge with two strips of prosciutto.
  5. Drain the melon balls.
  6. Arrange the prosciutto‑wrapped cheese wedges and melon balls on a lettuce‑lined plate.
  7. Garnish with alfalfa sprouts.
