Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 cups water
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 4 cloves crushed garlic
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup dry rice

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet or pot.
  2. Chop the onion and sauté it with the ground beef until translucent.
  3. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, sugar, crushed garlic, oregano, cumin, chili powder, and salt to the mixture.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cook for 30 minutes or until the rice is tender.
  5. Serve hot over Fritos corn chips or tortillas, garnished with chopped onions, grated cheese, lettuce, diced avocado, olives, Ranch Style white cream dressing, sour cream, and taco sauce as desired.
