Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pound butter

Instructions

  1. Let the butter soften to room temperature.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together.
  3. Add half of the flour and mix by hand until combined.
  4. Add the remaining flour and mix until smooth.
  5. Form the dough into a smooth oblong ball.
  6. Place the dough in a greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  7. Push the dough flat and evenly all over the pan surface.
  8. Poke numerous holes in the dough with a fork, pushing all the way through to the pan.
  9. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 45 minutes or until the edges are just golden brown.
  10. Cut into pieces while still warm.
  11. Cool completely and then remove from the pan.
