Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. warm water
  • flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1 tablespoon sugar in 1/2 cup warm water. Let stand for 4 or 5 minutes.
  2. Mix 2 1/2 cups warm water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, and salt.
  3. Combine with the yeast mixture and add flour to make a medium dough.
  4. Let the dough stand in a warm place until it rises. Then punch down and shape into rolls.
