Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 2 eggs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soak 3 packages of unflavored gelatin in 1 1/2 cups cold water.
  2. Heat 8 cups of milk until hot enough to dissolve the gelatin.
  3. Add 2 1/2 to 3 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, and 2 teaspoons vanilla to the milk and stir until dissolved.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool, then add 2 cups of whipped cream.
  5. Set the mixture in a cool place until it thickens.
  6. Freeze the mixture until firm and ready to serve.
