Tips & Substitutions

For a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños or other hot peppers to the mix. If you prefer a sweeter relish, increase the sugar slightly. It's important to drain the peppers thoroughly after salting to avoid excess moisture in your final product. Using fresh, high-quality ingredients will enhance the flavor significantly, making this relish a standout. Consider pairing it with dishes like grilled meats or a cheese platter.

Serving Suggestions

This pepper relish is a versatile condiment that pairs beautifully with sandwiches, burgers, or even as a topping for grilled chicken or fish. It also works well as a flavorful addition to cheese boards, complementing strong cheeses. For a delightful side, serve it alongside Martha Jean'S Strawberry Salad to balance the sweetness with a tangy kick.

Storage & Reheating

Once sealed in jars, store the pepper relish in a cool, dark place. It can last for up to a year when properly canned. After opening, refrigerate and consume within a month for the best flavor. To reheat, you can gently warm it in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, without boiling to preserve its texture.
